The Thai

Little Kitchen Café

Occupying itself in a beautiful restored historic building, step inside Little Kitchen’s welcoming atmosphere and mesmerising selection of cakes and delicious counter food. Outside there is spacious seating area overlooking the harbour. Watch the world go by over a flat white or one of their fine selections of tea. Check out the brilliant local artwork inside the café.


The Waterfront Café & Bar

Sit back, unwind, and enjoy the spectacular harbour views at The Waterfront Café & Bar. Stop in for a coffee for fresh baked goodie, have a salad for lunch, or in the evening dine on one their delicious pizzas. This is a great spot to relax in the late afternoon or evening over a beer or glass of wine.

Mangonui Fish Shop

You can’t get any more fresh than this. Always wanted to try mussels or raw fish salad? Choose from a vast range of fresh and locally caught seafood.. like really local. The restaurant sits at the entrance to Mangonui Harbour, with a view that compliments the cuisine perfectly. Don’t forget your side dish – thick cut, shoestring, wedges, kumara, or beer battered chips are all on the menu!


Fresh and Tasty

Definitely a local favourite. Fresh & Tasty is conveniently placed right next to the Mangonui hotel & pub at the village centre. You can place your order for fresh snapper and a generous portion of chips, then go and find a place at the pub to enjoy your meal accompanied by a cold handle of beer and some banter with the locals.


Beach Box

Looking for great coffee? A 5- minute drive over to the shops at Cooper’s Beach will get you to the Beach Box, a hip little café in a converted shipping container. Lainey and Steve make a mean cappuccino to kick start your day. Along with yummy muffins, bagel sandwiches, and their specialty almond croissants, there are other sweet treats including ice creams to make your day at the beach complete!
