Kotare Suite

This is a luxury ground floor suite with a large harbour-facing courtyard and a private entrance. It has a spacious open plan, original polished kauri floors, and colourful wallpaper and artworks. The brick-paved courtyard has a large outdoor table under the shade of the old oak tree, surrounded by shrubs and flowers.

This suite has a super king bed, an adjacent lounge area, a kitchenette, and a table and chairs where you can enjoy breakfast looking out at the view. The bathroom features a large walk-in shower. This is our only room where a BBQ can be provided upon request.

This charming cottage was built in 1861, at the same time as the main hotel building. It started life as a meeting house and in the intervening years it has been used as a billiards room, butcher shop, owner’s quarters, tea house, and cafe.
