Take a drive down memory lane

Based in Doubtless Bay, Northland, Matthews Vintage Machinery Museum is the result of a decades-long hobby that has kept owner Winston (Win) Matthews busy for over 50 years.

The 1100 square metre shed houses lovingly restored vintage cars, stationary engines, farming, household, and pioneering appliances, some of which have been used by the Matthews family over the past century.

As you take a trip down memory lane, enjoy the large collection of historical artifacts that offer an insight into New Zealand history, showcasing the best in vintage memorabilia and a stunning collection of vintage cars and machinery used within New Zealand and dating back to the early 1900’s.

The large selection of vintage cars includes Nashs, Chevrolets and a Singer Roadster amongst others.

The collection also includes a wide range of stationary engines all in working order including Tangyes, Wolseleys, Andersons, Listers, Bamford etc.

Particularly impressive is the detailed labelling on each item, with information on where it came from, mechanical details, and other memorabilia.
