Kotare Suite
The Kotare harbour view suite is a luxury ground floor suite with a charming, up-close view of the waterfront. A spacious open plan suite with polished kauri floors, this suite has its own private entrance in the shadow of the Old Oak. It has a large brick-paved courtyard and an outdoor table surrounded by shrubs and flowers.
This suite has a super king bed, and an adjacent lounge area with two comfy sofas and a large 50-inch flat screen smart TV, and a large table and chairs where you can enjoy breakfast looking out at the harbour. There is a kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave, toaster, crockery, and plunger coffee and tea. The bathroom features a large glass-enclosed shower. This suite has its own climate controls.
Totara Room
The Totara Studio is our petite standard room. It has a view of the garden. This compact room features high ceilings, a double bed, TV, easy chair, closet, small refrigerator, and coffee and tea making facilities. The bathroom is modern, light, and airy with a shower and very high ceilings.
A comfortable and cosy room for the solo traveler.
Maximum occupancy is one person.
Tui Studio
The Tui Studio is a one of our studio rooms that features the highest ceilings in the hotel. This room has French doors with colourful stained glass, which opens to a small garden patio and bench. It features stylish floor to ceiling drapes, a super king bed, large TV, table and chairs, a small refrigerator, and tea and plunger coffee facilities. It has a modern heating and cooling system.
The very large bathroom in this studio has a step-in shower, and features one of the large old hotel hearths (now ornamental!).
Kauri Studio
The Kauri Studio is a large studio that features a kauri mantle which once surrounded the original, large Old Oak hearth that now frames the headboard. The room has a super king bed, TV, two lounge chairs, a small table and chairs, a small refrigerator, and plunger coffee and tea facilities. This room has a modern heating and cooling system.
The Kauri studio has high board and batten ceilings, a skylight, and a modern bathroom with bathtub and shower above.
A colourful stained glass side door leads to an outdoor sitting area with a bench, fringed by a large jasmine hedge that smells divine in springtime!
Ruru Suite
The Ruru Suite is a spacious upstairs one-bedroom suite. It features harbour views from the bedroom, and there is direct access to balcony which has lounge chairs and expansive views of the inner harbour. The bedroom has a king size bed, unique artwork, and a closet with a colourful stained glass window.
The cosy central dining area includes a table and chairs, kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave, toaster, and plunger coffee & tea facilities. This suite has a small standard bathroom with step-in shower. There is a relaxing lounge with built-in sofa, a large ottoman, rocking chair, and TV. The Ruru Suite has modern climate control for heating and cooling.
